SkillQuest

Unlock your potential with SkillQuest- “the ultimate tool for career growth and personal development”

Project Overview

The SkillQuest app project is a final capstone project aimed at improving retention and engagement rates for Gen-Z employees in corporate workplaces. The project aims to create a more engaging work environment for this generation and provide a solution that benefits employees and recruiters. The app is gamified to attract Gen-Z employees, with features such as personal assessment tests, workshops, and feedback surveys designed to help recruiters and HR manage their employees more interactively. By completing these tasks and earning points and rewards, Gen-Z employees can avail of various employee benefit programs. Ultimately, the goal is to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement, resulting in happier employees, increased productivity, and a more prosperous business.

Solution

Gen Z employees’ interface

The application comprises four core features to improve Gen Z employee engagement and retention: personal assessment tests, workshops, feedback, and surveys. These features are designed to incentivise employees to improve their skill sets by attending workshops and taking assessments.
The coaching feature is also available as a reward for reaching specific milestones and achievements, but only once the employee has reached a predetermined level of proficiency.

Recruiter and HRs’ interface

Research

Primary Research : User Interviews and Surveys

To start with my primary research, I prepared a question guide for my stakeholders, i.e, Gen Z and the HR/ Recruiters who will be hiring the new talent into their organisations to understand the current obstacles that the managers and the employees face at their workplaces and how they deal with such situations.

Final Insights

Develop innovative solutions that promote work-life balance, well-being, and productivity while fostering a more inclusive and supportive workplace culture.

Consider offering flexible work arrangements, such as remote work or flexible schedules.
Set clear expectations and boundaries
Encourage employees to develop strong time management skills such as training or resources on prioritisation, delegation, and effective communication.

Through the use of visual media, storytelling, or gamification?
Visual aids to communicate important information or data.
Informal communication - could be just coffee chats with employees from different teams.
Mentorship program: Implement a mentorship program where Gen Z employees can connect with more experienced colleagues to learn new skills and gain insight into the company culture.

To establish a workplace that respects and promotes diversity, it is essential to provide resources that support and empower people from diverse backgrounds. This can involve giving access to resources that address unique concerns and difficulties experienced by employees of various races, genders, and sexual orientations, as well as a secure and friendly workplace where employees can share their experiences and obtain support.
